"Bringing the community together to meet the needs of vulnerable Bellevue Public School families."

About Us

In 2017, Suzanne Quinn and Charlene Cobbs combined their volunteer resources to more effectively meet the needs of Bellevue Public School families. This partnership increased their capacity to provide for growing community needs. Char and Suzanne met with other volunteers and all agreed that together this volunteer group could accomplish greater things for the school community and the non-profit

Bellevue Together

was formed.

How Does it Work?

All families are referred by Bellevue Public School counselors and social workers. They interview each family and determine their needs. Then if deemed qualified, refer them to Bellevue Together for assistance.

Back to School Event (BTSE)

The last week of July, each referred student receives new clothes, underwear, socks, shoes, and a backpack with age-appropriate school supplies.  Older students also receive hygiene kits.

Thanksgiving Event

Each registered Bellevue Public School referred family receives a box of food to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including a turkey and pie.

Christmas Event (Hands of Hope Project)

Each registered Bellevue Public School referred family receives two boxes of food to use over the long Christmas break. Each child also receives one clothing gift and a game/toy/gift card. Parents identify gift ideas. Bellevue Together ensures that the gifts meet requests. Other items (blankets, pillows, pillowcases made by volunteers, and family games) may be included.

Household Goods

(Furniture / Kitchenware / Linens / Baby Items)

Receives gently used, clean items to pass along to families in Bellevue Public Schools and the Lift Up Sarpy program.

Spring Break

Each registered Bellevue Public School referred middle school student receives a box of food and snacks to help them during the spring break.

Candy Canes

Collects full-sized candy canes and distributes to Bellevue Public Schools in December.

Student Snacks

Provides snack bars for after school study programs and for school nurses to distribute as needed.

Bellevue Public Schools Staff Support

Recognizes social workers and counselors for all their support. Provides either a snack or a meal during Parent Teacher Conferences twice each school year. Provides a staff appreciation meal annually to Bellevue East High School staff.

Winter Coats

Beginning October 1, Bellevue Public Schools Social Workers/Counselors identify students needing winter coats. Bellevue Together collects coats and matches each one with a hat and gloves, then delivers them to the school. Gently used, clean coats are accepted, however most of the coats are new.
